GRO is a SW-based offloading technique that used to reassemble small packets into larger ones, therefore, it can potentially reduce the per-packet processing overheads. This technique has the potential to save amount of CPU cycles, which is essential to achieve high speed network processing.
The patch should utilize DPDK's Generic Receive Offload Library to implement the offloading, and one also needs to have a benchmark to test the performance gain by adopting this technique.
