Performing a "No Results' Search in Tabular view Causes Script error

This problem occurs with IE, FF and Chrome (See below)

1. Click the 'Tabular view'
2. Enter 'Test' in the Search field
3. When "No results found.' is displayed click on it
4. Then use the Backspace to remove 'Test' from the Search field
5. Once again click on "No results found.'
6. The screen freezes and within 15 - 30 seconds the error message 'that a script is running do you want to stop it' is displayed (see below)
