Adding Transcripts

I need assistance displaying oral history transcripts in my CB site. I tried to convert from the Google Sheets version to the Oral History/CSV hybrid version, but I cannot get them to display at all.

Is there a way to maintain our site in Sheets and display transcripts in an additional metadata field? Or add links to the PDF version?
Or should I restart again using the CSV version? Could you point me in the direction of the best documentation for trying to convert a Sheets CB site to one that is better suited for oral histories?

For Oral Histories, you'll really need to use the CSV version, and I'd recommend just using Oral History as Data, which was recently rebuilt on top of CollectionBuilder CSV. Here's the new repo: https://github.com/oralhistoryasdata/template

The docs are coming along and should be helpful as well. https://oralhistoryasdata.github.io/docs/.

You can add pdfs via a 'pdf' field to any item. Note that pdfs can also be generated automatically from the CSV if you don't have one formatted, using paged.js. The automatically generated ones will be available by default and overridden if you add a 'pdf' field.

Examples:

• Click the Download PDF button on Robery Wrigley's demo page to see the automatically generated pdf
• Here's a page for James McMichael with an added pdf. Note also that this page works like a compound object page in CollectionBuilder -- you can just add child rows to any transcript row to display additional images, pdfs, etc. to make this work (see the demo metadata to see how to do that; I also added a short section in the docs)
