Advanced Search within a Collection only searching within a collection

This is a simple-sounding request, but I am sure that it is less simple to implement.

Lindsey has provided a use case where she needs to access the abilities of the advanced search (the existing search facets are not enough) but just for the members of her collection, https://fairsharing.org/5742. As you can see, because collection facets are based on our generic search facets, there is already an Advanced Search button in each collection's facet section:

At the moment, this takes you to the advanced search across the entirety of FAIRsharing.

Instead, could the button for Advanced Search within a collection take the user to the Advanced search only over the members of that collection? There would likely need to be a banner / explanatory text at the top of the resulting Advanced Search that would say the user is only searching within Collection 1234.

Unfortunately not, at present. I will have to investigate when time permits whether the existing query can be changed to accommodate this, as it cannot currently search in such a way. If it can be changed then that would be a separate server issue.

The necessary constraint has been added to the API code. Changing the advanced search UI is quite a different matter, though...

BTW if the back end is finished, does that mean you could provide a URL that would be a query within a collection? Eg a url that would represent "all collection members with Subject Agnostic tags" for https://fairsharing.org/5742 ? thanks!

Yes; Vue3, and now even that has been pushed back.

No; the client code needs to be modified in order to understand the URL and construct the relevant search query. But, anyone wanting to search collections could ask for a GraphQL key and make API queries.
