Section 3.53.4.1.2 calls out HL7 ORU^R01 but ORU^R44 created for MEMDMC would be better since it doesn't require PID/PV1

Yes, that make sense. However, if the PCMC message relates to a single device assigned to a dedicated location and a certain patient I would suggest to add this information to the message (PID & PV1 segment). I assume the PID and PV1 are optional in the R44 message!?

Decision on 7/10/2025: only use R44 template and not utilize the patient/location context even if it would be available in a single device connection.
