Releasing a new version

What is the current status with the xmap functionality and what is the plan with releasing a new version?

I wanna to add some more basic stuff before tagging a new release. Specially, basic examples using xmap, but I haven't done it yet. But, things seem to be functional, maybe you could try out master for your stuff and see if something breaks.
