What are the specific reasons for choosing LegendList over FlashList, given that FlashList is considered a better alternative?

I'd say the main reasons are:

1. LegendList should be faster, at least in every example we've tested.
2. Recycling can do some weird things in some apps. It's a core part of FlashList but optional in LegendList.
3. maintainVisibleContentPosition lets you do bidirectional infinite scrolling
4. alignItemsAtEnd + maintainScrollAtEnd lets you make chat UIs without inverting the list, which causes problems with animations
5. It's much smaller so it's easier to contribute to and customize

I'm not sure what you mean that FlashList is considered a better alternative? LegendList is the newer one so it's the alternative 😂

I was in the middle of refactoring our app from Flatlist to Flashlist. Most of the suggestions I received from the web and some research I conducted were related to Flashlist. By chance, a YouTube ad for Expo popped up on my phone, discussing the Legend List. I watched it! I apologize for any confusion caused by my question; I just realized that shouldn’t be the case. Regardless, I’m excited about this new project and would love to contribute as well.

Ah ok I understand, no worries! LegendList is much newer (and still beta) so there won't be much discussion on the web yet. Hopefully that will change soon 😂
