In the past, with my 4k monitor, I had a 1080 which would occasionally turn black for a second or so.
2 years ago I bought a 4070 and still has that happening.
Now I bought a 5080 and I read of some "black screen" problem.
I thought the 1 second black screen was what they all meant.
But it's not that.
The problem is in fact much more severe. It would black screen for seconds and sometimes so often that it would be mostly black with the occasional flash of regular output.
Allgedly the black screen problem was fixed with the latest 572.83 version.
I dual boot Linux and Windows. I have the latest 570.133.07 nvidia-open package installed on Archlinux. Every time I boot Linux first with this driver, then boot into Windows and play some game, I'm getting that black screen issue.
The non-open driver didn't even recognize my 5080, so I had to use the open driver.
So every time I want to play games, I now have to power off the machine, wait 10 seconds and boot directly into Windows.
