Discussion/revision of contentious passage on how to deal with offenses in Community Guidelines

Description

We need to discuss and the following passage in our community guideline:

If you say something that is found offensive, and you are called out on it, let’s:
Listen without interruption.
Believe what the person is saying & do not attempt to disqualify what they have to say.
Ask for tips / help with avoiding making the offense in the future.
Apologize and ask forgiveness.

The current state of the passage has issues, and the changes to this passage have issues as well. I hope we can have a productive discussion on the change to be put here.

Problem

We want the community to be as safe and inclusive as much as possible, this passage has been and is becoming an issue that we have to attend to.

Benefit

This will provide us with the context and a clear path forward.
