Hi,

It would be cool to have an alternative installation path/script that doesn't write directly to /usr and /opt in order to support immutable distributions which are currently gaining a lot of popularity.

Is this something planned by any chance?

At least for openSUSE MicroOS and those based on it you can install RPMs. Issue is most likely interacting with the sandbox.

#503 adds support for bazzite, other distros are not tested so feel free to test your favourite atomic distro
