Programming Mode and Device Info

Good day everyone.
Since I couldn't find this function in your documentation, I thought I'd post it here in the ideas forum.

You already have the example:
"Example for writing an individual address to a KNX device "(with serial number).
However, some devices don't have a serial number on the packaging or the device itself, so I often have to read the device information via ETS – "Device Info".

Is there already a way (at least) to read out the serial number or even the complete device information?

And while we're at it, I would really like to check my installation to see if a device is in programming mode – and if so, how many and which addresses.

For device info reading, if you want to investigate, I'd have a look at KNX-Standard 3.5.2 Management Procedures. I think you'd have to use apci.PropertyValueRead to retrieve the serial number.

Regarding the serial number: I tried to copy the nm_individual_address_read and added apci.PropertyValueRead to see if I could get any further information.

I understand very little about how KNX communicates on a low level... The idea was actually that, in addition to the "source address," I could also read out the "serial number."
I don't really understand how I can directly address (e.g., ia=1.1.1) so that I get the serial number (and other information) in response.
