Will not install using pip

When I run "pip install implicit" through the command prompt, it gives this error message:

Even though I've already followed the instructions and installed Visual Studio 2022.

I also encountered this error. Seems to be caused by the Python version being 3.12. I downgraded to 3.10 and everything installed fine. I haven't tried with version 3.11.

Are there plans to fix this for the coming Python versions? @benfred

I am also observing pip install failures, although it may not be the same error.

It seems that, when building the source distribution from PyPI, the build system uses an incompatible version of spdlog and/or fmt: the build fails with spdlog using a symbol missing from fmt.
