Alert() messages aren't working

I use PHPDesktop on Windows 11 with Chrome. Everything works fine except for the JS alerts. When I use alert(), no message is shown. However, when I press F12, alert() works fine until the DevTools window is on the screen. How can I return to normal alert() work?

Thank you! Yes, I noticed that changing 'runtime_style' from 'Alloy' to 'Chrome' achieves the desired result in the Windows version. However, when I select 'Chrome', the appearance of my pop-up windows changes. They open in a new browser instance with a URL line, etc. They also have random sizes rather than a defined size as they do in a regular browser. This means that either alerts or pop-ups work correctly, but not both:(
