LettuceEncrypt is now archived

The docs for Let's Encrypt mention using natemcmaster/LettuceEncrypt . As it happens, though, the repository for it was archived on 24th of April

with the explanation being that it was a solo-maintained project with little activity and progress.

What does that mean for YARP support for Let's Encrypt? LettuceEncrypt was archived only recently, so it's sure to work still for the foreseeable future, but it's also bound to stop working eventually.

Thanks for raising the issue. It is unfortunate but completely understandable.

As you've said, it's likely that existing logic will continue working for now. I don't see a need to remove the reference to it from documentation unless there's a better alternative out there that I'm not aware of. I know I'll keep using it in my personal projects at least.

There are certainly other ways to go about obtaining Let's Encrypt certs (ala certbot), but they don't integrate with ASP.NET quite as nicely.
Documenting them as an alternative way to do things seems reasonable.

I am also looking for alternatives, although i dont think certbot work on Windows. Whatever gets the job done but in-code seems pretty flexible.

LettuceEncrypt-Archon is a fork I maintain under the banner of my organization. It's seen numerous improvements over the original LettuceEncrypt to allow it to support high-availability setups, among other things. We run in it production where it supports around a hundred certificates currently for us and our customers who bring their own domains.
