Solcast über MQTT einbinden?

Guten Tag,
ich verwende bei mir eine OpenHab Installation, welche schon für PV Vorhersagen mit Solcast verbunden ist.
Da man dort (Solcast) aber nur wenige Abfragen am Tag fahren kann, würde ich gern meine RAW-Daten über MQTT an EVCC übergeben.
Wie kann ich dies einstellen?
Mir fehlt noch eine gure Übersicht über die MQTT Möglichkeiten von EVCC.
In OpenHab sind die Raw Daten im Json Format mit Actuals gefolgt von den forecasts. Bei den Werten wird der PV-Wert aber im Intervall von 30min hinterlegt (dann aber immer der für eine Stunde)
Ich könnte auch ein neues JSON erstellen, dazu muss ich aber die Struktur wissen.

Den Post habe ich schon entdeckt und würde ich gern ausprobieren.
Was ich hier nicht verstehe ist im JQ Part der yaml nur das Start / End / Price. Vor allem wenn in dem Beispiel oben ja nur ein Start und PV Forecast enthalten ist.

Da ich ebenfalls noch einen free Solcast-Zugang mit zwei unterschiedlichen Dachneigungen nutze, bräuchte ich eine kurze Info, was genau erwartet wird.. /start/end/price wird vermutlich die Struktur vom dyn. Strompeis sein.. die Frage, was dann für den PV-Forcast bei price erwartet wird.. vermutlich ein Wert in kWh?

also in home assistant bekommst du halb-stündliche daten und das für die nächsten 7 Tage. Ich denke mal für EVCC reichen 3 Tage für eine Wochenendeplanung aus. Leider ist das für jeden Tag ein separater Sensor. Ich vermute mal für EVCC müssten die Daten für auf einen Sensor reduziert werden. MQTT für die Übertragung macht sicherlich Sinn.

Wäre zu klären wie die Daten in HA aufbereitet werden müssen und wie das dann in EVCC eingetragen werden muss damit das funktioniert. Meine Kentnisse reichen da nicht aus.

Ach ja, ich habe auch bereits zwei Dachflächen in Solcast integriert, das war damals noch möglich. Bei den neuen Registrierungen ist das ganze wohl auf eine Fläche begrenzt.

Habt ihr drüber nachgedacht, die Daten der evcc API zu verwenden? Beim Strompreis http://localhost:7070/api/tariff/grid - sollte für Solar auch möglich sein/werden?

Ist natürlich auch eine Möglichkeit, aber meine Kommunikation mit EVCC läuft hauptsächlich über MQTT (ich schicke mir auch Ladepläne und Stromwerte so aus Openhab ins EVCC). In der Doku zum Tariff finde ich aber auch keine Post Funktion sondern nur eine GET (https://docs.evcc.io/docs/integrations/rest-api) , also auch hier das Problem mit einer Beschreibung. Die Frage, wie die Daten kommen sollen bleibt also.

Klasse, bei mir ist's jetzt auch eine Variante über Node-Red und MQTT geworden. Nur um's richtig zu machen. Habt ihr die Werte in "price" als Wh oder kWh?

Auf den ersten Blick läuft es und das direkt für meine Ost/West Anlage. Jetzt muss ich da nur noch die Daten der kleinen Solaranlage mit rein nehmen. Die Werte bekomme ich über Forecast.solar, die scheinen im RAW Format in HA nicht zu liegen.

Ich habe eine Automation für die Übertragung an den MQTT Broker angelegt, es wird wird auch etwas in den MQTT Broker geschrieben, aber die Datenfelder sind leer.

you have to change the 3 sensor to the exact names that your solcast uses.
I think mine are changed during the years

I had some problems with offset hours. My values were 1 or 2 hours before in evcc regarding to home assistant.
I assume this is due to timestamp coming already from home assistant. Seems this is already local (and not utc). But in evcc it needs to be utc.

So I needed to change the offset which now better fits to forecast data showing up in home assistant (energy dashboard) and evcc / grafana.

yes, got to ha - settings - integrations and you should find something

but it was not that usefull at least in germany. the forecast was far too good and caused issued.

We use solarprognose.de cause that is a reliable source with valid data and free up to 10 kWp size.
It offers a real construction of your PV system which means planing at every level down to a single string and the shading per months.
It has an api and delivers the usual value for today, tomorrow and so on

• inverter power output
• efficiency of the inverter
• panels and strings
• the temperature coefficient of the panels
• shading per string and month

Easier options with HA integrations are

• openmeteo
• forecastsolar

Here is an overview of today results
the first 3 columns show the data for solarprognose.de, openmeteo and forecast solar

#1 line is how we are calculating out of all of these 3 our own expectations, 50% solarpro, 30% meteo 20% forecast solar.
#2 line shows the "frozen values" from this morning cause the forecast sensors are updating over the day
#3 line shows the updated forecast sensors with their most recent values for comparison

As you can see our exxpectation was 94 kWh and so far 103,5 kWh achieved.
I also have another line with remaining production I can expect for today which is 4,9 kWh, so most likely we will get 108,5 kWh

BUT: do not forget what our goal is, cause we mix those together in a way that the values shown as expectation will be the minium we will achieve in 95% of all days

We use this as the worst scenario for our planing when to charge the car and so on.
Its goal is not a 100% precise prediction for all values and possibilities, but a safe prediciton that will be achieved on 350 days .

Quick question:

Ever after configuring evcc to read the Solcast values over MQTT like suggested here (thanks for all the hard work upfront, really!) it takes two to five minutes (!) to fully start up (after an update or any other restart).

Does anyone else notice the same behaviour?

Before the change, it'd typically be restarted within a few seconds.

I do have the same problem with my installation.
The mqttbroker runs on my homeassistant server. Could this be the problem?

I don’t think so - my MQTT broker is EMQX and runs in a separate container..

I've one final observation to share regarding this behavior:

Once the restart is running, it will always finish starting up at the next full five minutes.

For me, this is always the case and can also be seen in the log i shared:

• restart starts at 08:05:43
• does whatever it does for 4 minutes++
• resumes and finishes starting up at 08:10:00

This is still happening with 0.207.4 - maybe we can get some eyeballs on this @andig ?

My workaround: start updates at 08:09:00 (for example) because starting up will then be done by 08:10:00 🤷‍♂️

Final final observation regarding this:

Not sure which MQTT brokers others use, in my case it’s EMQX which basically works as expected for everything else…

Ever after configuring evcc to read the Solcast values over MQTT like suggested here (thanks for all the hard work upfront, really!) it takes two to five minutes (!) to fully start up (after an update or any other restart).

How can I reproduce this? What does the trace log show?

Ich hab leider keine Kapa mir das anzuschauen. Ist was spannendes im Log? Ich kann mich da nur wiederholen: wenns auf mqtt keine Daten gibt dann wartet evcc bis zum Timeout. Und wenn kein Timeout gesetzt gibts nen Fehler falls keine Daten da sind. Nur wenn es ein anderes als dieses Verhalten ist ists ein Fehler.

Ich versuche es zu deuten und mit im Issue zu dokumentieren. Ich würde sagen ja, es liegt ein Fehlverhalten vor.

Im Protokoll erkenne ich es leider nicht, mir fehlen vermeindlich die Zusammenhänge der konkurrierenden Threads. Ich sehe sowohl ein retain beim MQTT topic, als auch ein regelmäßiges schreiben (60s). Sogar evcc/updated wird alle 10s an mqtt publiziert und trotzdem wartet evcc zwischen den Ausgaben von tariff 15 Minuten. Ich sehe die Aussage einer Erreichbarkeit auf :7070 des UI, die nicht gegeben ist: es horcht noch kein Prozess auf dem Port, steht aber im Log.

Die einzige Frage bzgl. Mqtt ist: auf welche Komponente wird gewartet und warum passiert das. Kannst du ggf. auch mittels cli testen wenn sonst nicht ersichtlich.

Während ich versucht hab, das Issue zu erstellen und die Daten auszuwerten, musste ich die Konfiguration nochmal prüfen, inkl. der Tarife. Dabei habe ich dann den lokalen Fehler gefunden, das zweite MQTT Topic für feedin war veraltet (bzw. nicht forciert retained) und letztlich verantwortlich für den reproduzierbaren Timeout. Ich erstelle kein Issue, denn nachdem der Wert aktuell geschrieben und das Flag "retain" hat, ist der Neustart wieder zuverlässig. Die Verarbeitung von "site" scheint bis zum Timeout des MQTT-Wertes blockiert zu sein, inkl. UI Erreichbarkeit.

Ich habe als Fehlverhalten gemeint, ob die Bindung an Port 7070 und die Erreichbarkeit des UI abhängig sein sollte von der Verfügbarkeit eines MQTT-Wertes, obwohl die Logausgabe die Erreichbarkeit des UI bereits angekündigt hat.

Und mit deiner Antwort hat sich auch das erledigt - closed.

I query in HA 5 times per day via automation and in evcc I use the template with the following settings. This produces 4 queries.
No need to send data via mqtt…

die Automation in Home Assistant hat bei mir nicht funktioniert. Erst nachdem ich folgende Zeile entfernt hatte:

evaluate_payload: false

Wenn die angezeigte Vorhersage deutlich zu hoch ist kann man im template die Zeile

'price': (entry.pv_estimate * 1000) | round

zu

'price': (entry.pv_estimate10 * 1000) | round

ändern. Das passt bei meiner Anlage dann ziemlich gut. estimate90 gibt es aber auch noch.
