Slicing pdf pages to add space in the middle of an existing document

Hello,
I am working at University and I have found RNote interesting for my work but lacking one specific feature. Would it be possible to separate a pdf page in 2 at a slicing point in order to add space between the 2 parts in the same way that we do it with elements drawn by hand ?
I see 2 main use cases for that

1. projecting a question sheet to students and answering under each question. Currently I am screenshoting each question to paste it before answering, which is tedious
2. annotating a document, but instead of using the margin, which does not provide a lot of space, adding some space where it's needed.
   I don't know what pdf manipulations are possible on the dev side, but I think that duplicating a page and cropping each copy with given dimensions should be feasible. And I say pdf but even if it was possible only on images it would still be great, I would'nt really mind converting a pdf to a png if needed as long as it stays readable.

I would also very much like to see this get implemented. I am doing the exact same thing of Screenshoting the Questions to paste them with distance.
