What Does It Mean to Schedule Task?

Let's say I schedule a task for 30th May. On 31st May, if the task hasn't been marked as completed, it will be displayed under "Overdue". Is it correct? I have always associated "scheduled" with the start time. But from SP's perspective, "scheduled" means deadline?

Yes, you're right... and it's not very intuitive. I get surprised too.

I used todoist (and similar) add inspiration here. I can see that this is a bit of a fuzzy concept. What do you think could be more intuitive?

On second thought, I can see why someone would interpret "schedule" as due date. It's all a matter of interpretation. I think there are two approaches:

• Add start date / or do date to the Task model.
• Make a plugin that allows users to add do date.

I believe Trello used to not have a start date many years ago, but it is available now. Todoist has decisively never had for years, but they currently have a robust plugin system and there is an active plugin for adding do date. I can see pros and cons of both approaches.

Yes, that's true. But I have the impression that a scheduled date can be subject to change, whereas theoretically a due date is fixed. Therefore, scheduling what I have to do is more likely to change the scheduled dates than due date. 🤔
