Runaway process(es) leading to intense CPU usage?

With this extension enabled, I noticed that every time I opened or edited the package.json file it somehow causes a relevant build command to rerun and re-generate the build output directory (e.g. dist/). This happens over and over again and sometimes doesn't seem to stop, causing a major slowdown on my machine.

Took me a while to realize that it was this extension causing the issue, which went away after disabling the extension.
