TextFields not properly in view when using keyboard

Extension of flutter/flutter#18291

Two potential paths:

• Wait for the fix in the flutter repo to enter Beta
• Research and try out some work arounds in the meantime.

current beta is v0.5.1 which was released may 29th
this fix is in v0.5.6 which was released june 16th

[acidjazz]

tried to switch over to v0.5.7 in the dev branch and while the scrolling patch works heavenly, ran into too many other issues, app crashes constantly. we need to wait until this fix is in beta
