Support of the E32-433T30D Lora module from cdebyte ?

Hello,

I am trying to build a Meshtastic node using an ESP32 and the E32 433T30D module from CDEBYTE, but I am facing some challenges with adapting the firmware. Specifically, I need to modify the firmware to use the UART interface instead of SPI for communication with the E32 module.

I am not very experienced with firmware development, so any guidance or pointers on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has experience with a similar setup or could help point me to resources or existing codebases, that would be fantastic.

Unfortunately UART modules cannot be supported. They lack the low-level control over the radio that you have with SPI.

Building a parallel network for this device is possible as the code is open source ?

One fundamental piece you'll likely need to replace is RadioLib: https://github.com/jgromes/RadioLib

The T versions of the ebyte modules are meant to act as a serial bridge over lora. they're set up with AT-Style commands. I don't think you can port Meshtastic to something like that, even with massive effort. It's just not compatible.

I'd recommend getting a M version instead, since this is compatible. Saves you endless headaches.
