Misleading WebDav client user documentation (KDE, Dolphin)

The documentation on webdav seems to be a constant point of frustration:

The URL to access the files of one's NextCloud account via (KDE, Dolphin) is:
webdavs://@/remote.php/dav/files//
Without the @ in front of the it won't work.
Unfortunately the docs only say webdavs:///remote.php/dav/files//

It looks like I am not able to find the correct way to edit the documentation, so I post it here and hope that someone who knows how to edit the documentation repair this misleading URL.

Hi @Gittum - Thanks for the report, but I don't see that URL anywhere. The only one I see is:

• webdav://example.com/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME

Which is found here:

Am I overlooking something?

Sorry, this forum software has changed my posting because I haven't mark them as code ...

This webdav://example.com/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME does not work when using in KDE (Dolphin).
It should be webdav://<username>@example.com/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/<username>, or better webdavs://<username>@example.com/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/<username>. Where <username> has to replace with the login name of the related user.

BTW: It is possible to format text previously marked as code, as bold. But then display the code is not bold, but there are ** around ...

Is there a difference if you go via the Places/Network approach instead of using the editable Location bar?

I'm using Files/Nautilus in Gnome. I'll have to bring up KDE/install Dolphin and poke around.

yes, this is the behavior if I use an other URI like smb://

In this case, I see 'This folder is empty' at the place the content should be displayed. BTW: If I use https:// instead of webdavs:// as URI KDE opens the webbrowser ;-)

CONTEXT:

I know this ticket is about the documentation and not about Dolphin (it seems to be a problem in Dolphin itself), but the result of further investigations is probably interesting for the doc. I will not investigate further, because I gave a try to KDE and I will go back to Gnome (for other reasons). Therefor I will not need Dolphin any more (but Nemo, and the doc is OK, since Nemo→Nautilus fork).

PROBLEM:

I have a pristine Fedora 40 KDE plasma Desktop and Dolphin does not provide the user field.

I tried with user@server and all possible format

I also tried directly in the Dolphin bar with things like:

• webdav://user@server/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/user
• webdavs://user@server/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/user
• webdavs://user@server:443/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/user
• webdav://user@server:443/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/files/user

Nothing worked

same problem like @grantsiemens i was somehow able to add it a few weeks ago but added 2fa and now not able to add it again anymore please help!
