Don't load all series at once, e.g. only load filtered lists of series when searching.

Oh thanks. I thought this still loaded everything only later. And judging from the video, this seems to be the case initially and only after typing it gets filtered down. Could I suggest getting rid of the initial request entirely and only use filtered requests maybe even with a limit?

Oh true, while #1375 does only load filtered lists when searching, it still loads all of them when the dropdown is opened.

I'd like to avoid getting rid of the "initial request", because in my mind that would mean that the dropdown is empty when opened. Maybe we could do some sort of infinite scrolling thing with offset and limit, so we only fetch the series that are going to be visible in the dropdown (and maybe a bit beyond that so scrolling does not look terrible). Don't know how to do that off the top of my head though, not sure I can include that in #1375. Ideally react-select does this for us somehow.
