Please bump openpbs-ohpc version in 3.x series

The 2.x series got this update years ago in 2.7 (09 November 2023), but the 3.x series stuck at 22.05.11.

I'm investigating a problem which openpbs creates erroneous $PBS_NODEFILE with -lplace=excl. The problem does not exist before I upgraded the cluster from 2.x to 3.x. I think might a version bump can help.

(The upgrade took place together with hardware maintenance, just before 4.0 was released. What a pity. Now I cannot afford another downtime in near future.)

Do you know if it is possible/easy to upgrade an existing openpbs installation on 3.x to 23.06.06?

The problem seems to be that openpbs upstream is pretty dead. There has not been much activity in their repository.

See #2278 for a possible openpbs update on 3.x. Not sure yet if that works. Just a test for now.

Many thanks! I just fetched the rpms from https://github.com/openhpc/ohpc/actions/runs/18773798351/job/53564170510?pr=2278 and directly upgraded via dnf. It works all right and job histories are all preserved.

Thanks for the quick test. Does it also solve the problem you described above? If yes we can include this in 3.4.

I only upgraded the header (-server) and a few nodes (-execution). The problem seems not solved yet and I'm still working on it 🧑‍🏭
