Installation error - Java

I'm brand new to Skip, and trying to get it installed. I was under the impression that brew install skiptools/skip/skip would install everything I needed, but when I run skip checkup I get the error:

[✗] Java version: error executing java
[✗] posix_spawn error: No such file or directory (2), `["/opt/homebrew/opt/java/bin/java", "-version"]`
[✗] Skip 1.3.2 checkup failed with 2 errors

Neither the FAQ nor the community seems to have any results when I search for this.

I thought I already had java installed (I know it used to be, but I have actually used Java in forever). brew install java says

So...now what?

Can you post the entire output of skip checkup?

Had you upgraded at some point from an Intel macOS machine to an M-Series ARM? If so, then it may be that your old Intel version of Homebrew is still installed, which doesn't work with many of the tools Skip needs. In that case, you should uninstall Homebrew and re-install it from https://brew.sh

I think that's exactly what the problem was! I discovered my JAVA_HOME was broken (thanks Grok!), and once I figured out how to configure it properly (and exercised a modicum of patience) I finally arrived at [✓] Skip 1.3.2 checkup succeeded in 793.02s!

If that's the case now, I don't really need to nuke my brew install, right? If skip checkup and skip doctor all pass, then everything's copasetic now, right? Nothing else lurking in the shadows?

Yes, if skip checkup passes, you should be in good shape to proceed to making a new app with the skip init --appid=… command.
