Issues on Raspberry Pi4

Hi all,

I finally got some time to sit and play and hit some issues. I haven't had time up until now, so I can't say if it worked previously

I'm using a Raspberry Pi 4, and attempting to use the Arduino Maker Workshop extension.

However, I'm hitting two problems:

• I'm seeing an error popup "CLI : Failed to get Arduino CLI version information"
• and the extension window itself has a message saying, "There is no data provider registered that can provide view data"

I tried installing the CLI on its own and put it at /usr/local/bin/arduino-cli, so running arduino-cli version will work to show me the version:
arduino-cli Version: 1.3.1 Commit: 08ff7e2b Date: 2025-08-28T13:51:43Z

The current version of VSC installed is:

If you reopen vscode and click on the Arduino Workshop Extenson, the output Window "Arduino Extension" will show were the bundled arduino-cli is install on your linux machine : (Arduino CLI is ready, path: c:\Users\charles.vscode\extensions\thelastoutpostworkshop.arduino-maker-workshop-1.0.6\arduino_cli\win32\arduino-cli.exe)

You could go there and see if the cli is actually working

Also set the path to the arduino-cli you have installed to see if the extension can use it in the settings :

Hello, and thank you for the response. Digging in, I found a couple of things:

Arduino Extension (via Output) didn't reveal much:

I did find a path underneath the Arduino CLI drop down:

When I looked at the path shown, I do indeed see the linux folder's missing.

I installed the extension via the Extension marketplace within VSC. Is there an alternate way to install the visx or maybe there's a build issue? I did notice that I don't even get the Settings screen shown above; I suspect that's the result of the other message regarding the other message: "There is no data provider registered that can provide view data"

In Vscode, uninstall the extension, and reinstall it.

I see from the print screen that you have version 0.0.4, it's very old.
Install the most recent v1.0.5
