Overview

• This repository provides Stata syntax files that harmonise diabetes variables in the NCDS, BCS, Next Steps and MCS in a consistent way to enable cross-cohort comparison.
• We also provide an overview of all variables related to asthma in these four cohort studies (note that only a few of them were used in the derivation of the harmonised diabetes variables)

Syntax and data availability

• Source data: Download raw data files from the UK Data Service for all cohorts and all time points and place them in the appropriate macros, e.g. response age5 etc.
• Syntax: update 'inputpath' and 'inputpath2' according to where you stored raw data for cohort studies
• Derived dataset: Available to download from the UK Data Service.
