🙋 Ivirius™ Community Code of Conduct

Important

This document outlines the Code of Conduct for the Ivirius™ Community - a set of principles and rules that all contributors, members, and team members must follow to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment.

🧑‍💻 Purpose

The Ivirius™ Community was founded in 2020 with a mission to deliver high-quality software to tens of thousands of Windows users. This Code of Conduct outlines our goals, values, and the rules we follow to ensure a smooth and respectful experience for everyone interacting with our products and community.

We welcome developers, designers, and contributors from around the world to collaborate on our projects.

To maintain the integrity of our community, contributors who violate these rules may lose their access privileges.

💻 Article 1 – FOSS

Here at the Ivirius™ Community, we proudly support and promote free and open-source software. Members who contribute meaningfully to our open-source projects will be recognized with the Public Contributor role on our Discord server.

FOSS is the foundation of a strong, transparent, and collaborative community. Developers who demonstrate skill, dedication, and creativity through their contributions have a higher chance of being invited to join the core team.

Warning

Donations and sponsorship revenue from our FOSS projects are used solely by the owner to fund the community’s infrastructure and support its growth. Since our FOSS projects are maintained by community members and contributors who volunteer their time and effort, we are not obligated to compensate them. The Ivirius™ Community is not a corporation and does not have the capacity to issue paychecks.

🔒 Article 2 – Closed Source Software

In addition to our FOSS projects, the Ivirius™ Community also maintains closed-source projects, some of which are payware.

Warning

Currently, the only payware project under the Ivirius™ Community is managed and published by the community’s owner. The revenue generated from this project is used to support both community growth and personal purposes.

Since these projects are diverse, each has its own set of codes of conduct:

  1. Ivirius Text Editor
    • Ivirius Text Editor does not generate revenue. Its net worth is equivalent to that of Ivirius Text Editor Plus, as both projects share the same underlying codebase.
  2. Ivirius Text Editor Plus
    • All revenue from Ivirius Text Editor Plus is directed to the owner for community growth and personal purposes. Employees of the Ivirius™ Community who contribute to this project are not compensated, as we are unable to issue paychecks and want to prevent any potential fraudulent claims.
    • The source code for this project is confidential and must not be disclosed by anyone with access to it.

😄 Expected Behavior

All community members are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Contribute respectfully and thoughtfully to discussions and projects.
  • Provide constructive and actionable feedback.
  • Respect the decisions made by team members and moderators.
  • Focus on creating for the benefit of the community, not just personal gain.
  • Use Mica.

🤬 Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered harassment and are strictly prohibited within the Ivirius™ Community:

  • Any form of violence, discrimination, inappropriate behavior, boundary violations, or illegal activities. Common sense applies - do not attempt to circumvent this rule.
  • Making changes to a project without prior discussion and approval from the team.
  • Injecting references to other projects, communities, or entities without prior approval.
  • Acting independently and claiming community projects as your own.
  • Making negative comparisons between projects (including operating systems, apps, mods, websites, etc.).
  • Any mention of "Acr*lic" is strictly prohibited. Developers using "Acr*lic" as a backdrop in any of our projects will face an immediate ban from the community (note that immutable components, such as flyouts, are exceptions).

Note

Our Discord server's extended rules may also apply to these articles.

🏙️ Employee Behavior

Professional conduct is simple: maintain respect and professionalism in all situations. Team members may be assigned tasks with specific deadlines and are expected to complete them within the given time frame. We encourage all employees to prioritize a healthy lifestyle, both at work and in their personal lives.

As our community operates primarily online, open and respectful communication is vital. Please note that blocking fellow team members on social media is strictly prohibited.

Ivirius™ Community members participate in online meetings that may include voice and video calls, Discord server discussions, and other forms of quick communication.

While in-person meetings are rare within Ivirius™ Community, they do occasionally happen. We encourage team members to uphold professionalism and maintain a friendly attitude during any real-life encounters.
