@limoges and I were evaluating kafka-proxy at @sumup, we tried to put the proxy between kafbat-ui and kafka, but it didn't work. The reason is that Kafkbat UI uses a not-so-poular DescribeCluster request/response, so we made a patch to support it, hope you'll find it worthy.
