🎓 I am Vancence, an aspiring Software Engineer (specializing in Artificial Intelligence) who is currently seeking a spring tech internship! I currently pursuing my Bachelor's in Computer Science & Design with a Minor in Artificial Intelligence and a Specialization in Software Engineering at the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) looking to graduate in mid-2026.
🔭 I enjoy building projects as well as contributing to my team as a team player. Currently, together with my team, we are working on a solution which target Gen-Z university students who often experience emotional and psychological barriers which results in a decrease in productivity, our goal is to develop a system that provides personalized and low-friction interventions to build habits, momentum and reduce these barriers so that they are able to start somewhere and sustain the progress. Another project which me and my partner was working on till recently was HORIZON which is an Android-based mobile application that would automatically schedule and optimise our ever-busy calendars. Leveraging new technologies such as LLM and NLP, I hope that HORIZON will be able to transform and improve efficiency throughout lives. Additionally, I am also learning SQL, TypeScript, and GoLang while developing some personal projects of mine.
🤿 Outside of studying and tech, I enjoy exploring the unknown which is why my hobbies range from doing sports to hiking, and diving. Recently, because of the experience I had with diving, I took up a position in my school's diving club, SUTDiving, Executive Committee (EXCO) where I was a Treasurer, with my EXCOs we plan dive trips locally and abroad for the student body to broaden their knowledge on marine life as well as explore the depths beneath the waves. Recently, as part of our dive trips we were able to dive at Tioman Island, Malayisa, where I obtained both my PADI Open Water Diver Certification (OWC) and PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver Certification (AOW). As part of a personal trip, I was recently in Bali, Indonesia where I dived at some popular dive sites such as Manta Point, Crystal Bay, and USAT Liberty Wreck!!
📚 I also love reading the news and books on startups, business, and financial literacy. My favorite ones include Zero To One by Blake Masters and Peter Thiel which talks about the future of startups and The Smart Investor by Benjamin Graham which teaches one how to make informed financial decisions.
