I left some suggestions here to match Astro Docs' writing style and what we do in the other guides.
This is not easy to make suggestions to move content around in the Github UI so here are my thoughts:
- The DigitalOcean account sounds more like a prerequisite than a step to deploy a project and should be moved before
- Same for the Github, Gitlab or Bitbucket repository
- Some parts sounds a bit too narrative and we might need to give more direct guidance
- I don't think the "How to deploy" introductory text is necessary and we can move the important part (
through the website UI) earlier. Then the "Web Application Deployment" heading doesn't seem useful anymore until we have other deployment methods. - The troubleshooting section seems a bit too generic to fit in this guide
I also left a question in my suggestion for the steps. Describing the whole UI might be a bit overwhelming for the user and maybe we should describe only the necessary options to deploy an Astro project. If you know a link in DigitalOcean docs that could be used instead, I think this would be better.
And, I removed the referral link. If one should be present in Astro Docs it would be to help financing the Astro project rather than to reward a specific contributor. I hope you understand.

Also, I'm not familiar with DigitalOcean. So I wonder about "recommended": is it their recommendation? is it yours?
I see you later tell users they can use Droplets instead so I'm asking to know if this is a real recommendation or more of a choice and if so, maybe we should stay neutral and remove the last part.

The account is a prerequisite, not a step.
I also done some small rewording and removed some parts that are already explained in the UI (e.g. Autodeploy) or to shorten a bit. And, I don't think we should say "do that, but you can do otherwise, but we recommend that". The steps should be an happy path for the user. If they want to customize some aspects, they are free to check DigitalOcean docs to do that.
"Connect app to VPC network" was muted on my side and since you say to not use it... maybe we should just remove it?

I'm not quite sure about the format in 4. though!
Maybe we should use the Tabs component here to differentiate a static website from an on-demand rendered one.
I was checking with a project that uses the Node adapter and I can see some differences in the UI (e.g. Deployment settings I don't see "output directory" but I see "run command"). And it seems with the Node adapter, the default configuration becomes a paid option and so I see Add payment method and Create App instead.
This kind of differences might be confusing for the user.
So, I wonder if instead we should just give some specific options to check/define (e.g. the build command) and give a link to DigitalOcean docs to review the other options? Their UI could change at any time so it could be a better path to not fully describe the interface here. Do you know such a link we could use here?

I don't think the guide needs all this. I can see a "Troubleshooting" section in the Azion and Cloudflare guides but they describe specific errors that could happen with their platform. Here, the steps seems pretty generic and so I'm not sure this is really helpful for the user.
And regarding Droplets, I don't know, eventually a link in "Official resources" but I don't think this adds much as its own section for the scope of this guide.
